Default Intercooler size? Mine is too big.

I've been purchasing the needed parts for a turbo setup, being that I have bills to pay etc, I can't buy everything all at once. With that said, my room started filling up with boxes of car parts, so I decided to install my intercooler to free up some room.

Well I try to mount it, but it's just a little too big for my car.

The length of this intercooler from inlet to outlet is 38 1/2 inches (including end tank length). It's 6 inches tall, and 2 inches thick ( the end tanks are 3 1/4 inches thick). Yeah I know, "You thought that would fit your 4th gen lude?"

Ok my question is, for you 4th gen turbo luders that have stock bumpers, what size intercooler are you guys running?

Ask anthony (precision h23). He has probably the best info on how to make it work with your stock bumper... chop chop.

Eh, actually, it looks like I'm actually going to go with a SMIC since I'm not planning on running high boost... And for better cooling, i'm going to have a scoop in the bumper that feeds air directly to the surface of the SMIC via plastic flex tube.

hm, anybody have the dimensions of a DSM SMIC? I searched google & HT, no luck.

Thanks for help.

So you're actually going to try to mount a side-mount intercooler on a Prelude?

here's a tip: don't. Just stick to a properly sized FMIC and be done with it.

please separate your FS post from your tech post. FS ads belong in the FS thread at the top. I'll check this later and if it's still in here I'll hack it out

hmmm.... a big part of my head's telling me not to go with SMIC either. asfhkasjdfhkjasdhfkjashdkf Looks like more forum/web surfing for me.

Anybody hear of intercoolers 5 " tall? I've been looking for something less than or equal to 22" in length, and about 5" tall... no luck on finding one.

thanks again for feedback
