Ok, so i decided that the f22 in my 92 prelude isn't going to cut it for me. And what is the first thing that comes to mind with prelude engin swap, H22a. But a friend of mine said that i should think about the K20a. So i check them out and they are pretty sweet engins. so now i am at a cross roads. It seems like a no brainer but the k20 is a newer engin meaning less mods to be found while the h22 has plenty you can do with it. But the k20 has more hp and is a smarter engin. So i don't know which i want more. I know the h22 like the back of my hand (woah how did that get there(while looking at back of hand)) but the K20 is so sweet. I will admit tho that i don't know that much about the swap of a k20 into a prelude. all opinions will be welcomed. thanks...

the K20 is a better engine to mod by far. responds much better to bolt ons & weighs less. however, it is expensive, and no one has made a mount kit for a prelude engine bay so it'd be alot of custom work. For the price of the K20 installed you could do alot to an H22.
still if money was no object and i found a way to make it all work, i'd take the k20/k24 easily.

Well, the first hurdle would be the fact that noone at this point makes a mount kit to swap a K-series motor into a Prelude, even though the H22 drops straight in, no mods required in mounting.
Then you got the fact that the K-series motors are extremely overpriced, esp. when compared to the price of an H22.
THEN you have the fact that they have similar performance out of the box......yes, the K-motors respond very well to mods, but it's just not cost effective.
Stick with the H22.

You would need some custom mounts for a k20 to fit inside a prelude since the k20 spins opposite way compared to the H22. Not only will you need fabricated motor mounts but the wiring/ECUs are completely different. It's not a doubt that the K20 will fit in the engine bay. You just need to mind about the rest of the work
You will want to get a k24 block underneath it all... you will missing low end with 2.0. Anyway, that is if you have no spending cap. And pay place racing to make mounts for you... then the rest of us can do a group buy on them!@
def. the h22
research some of the guys who have dealt with the K swap into their eg's ... also remember the cost of the these "mods", you will need to get a custom header built as the K header comes out the back, diff axel's and K pro to tune ure car right. If i were you i would keep calling Hasport and Hybrid Racing untill they started working on a K swap for a prelude, if they come out with their K swaps like the one's for the civics; you will see a lot more Lude's running around with K's in them.

in honda-tuning magazine (i forgot what issue it was) they had this project where they put a k20 head on the k24 block for the displacement of the k24 and the i-vtec and better flowing of the k20. if you had the money that would be a pretty cool project to do.

I don't think they will ever make engine mounts for the KA for Preludes. It wouldn't be profitable. Preludes are a dying breed. Also, most of the Preludes left already have H22's in them.
Stick to the H22.

Stick with an h22 simply because for all the money it is going to take to get a k series in your lude you could buy an h22 build it for a turbo application, turbo, and tune. Im sure if you did all of this you would have plenty of power to meet your needs.

im was thinking doing to but that costs more then i think i want to put into a car
but stick with the h22 you will be very happy with that

it would be worthless.
not enough torque to move the boat of a prelude.

i know what you mean but i was talking about the f22 from the 04+ s2k not the f20 from the 01-03. mayb in a few years the f22 will be worth it when we start running out of h22s. hahaha j/k.
i agree it is worthless though.
it would just be something cool to do if i won the lottery. hahaha.
