they both have a lot of other features, just dont really understand what they are but ya those are the two that i narrowed it down to. need help deciding which one i should get!!!

The G6 is one of the closest fixed lens cameras to an SLR (image quality wise).

Between the two, I vote Canon.

buydig.com is where i priced both of them. they have really good deals!!

edit:i also made a mistake on the zoom on the 5700, its 8x zoom instead of 4x!!

I'd go for the G6. In my experience Canons are a little more user-friendly than Nikons.

i'd go with G6. very capable camera. btw, are you sure the G6 is more than 5 megapixels?

edit: goddamn, nm. the G6 has 7.1 megapixels?

The Canon because the Digic processor is the fastest and most efficient in the business. Its like a AMD processor. Canon uses their own processors that they have developed over the last 16 years (starting in 88 Seoul Olympics). ALL other cameras use a processor made by either Sony or Olympus. ANd you know what Sony pics are like. I sell Canon Digital cameras and I also sell Sony and Panasonic. I have owned the top 3 digital brand cameras and by far the most superior is Canon. Sorry about the long write up but I am bad at recommeding stuff that I like and I know that works.
