I haven't had a car w/ pinstripes in forever, but I always used to peel the ******* off by hand, and then try to remove the adhesive remanents.

use hard plastic like a credit card to scrape the pinstripe off then clean up the adhesive with the adhesive remover. Could probably use some buffing compound too. It maybe discolored underneath.

that'll work, careful with a heat gun... it can burn the paint.

Body shops use a little paddle-wheel-eraser thing, takes off miles of pinstripe in minutes...

i took an old pinstripe off my hatch... i basically picked off what i could, then soaked 12in. sections of what was left (stripe and/or residue) with preps-all. It took me about 20 hours all together to get rid of all of it. It was all well worth it in the end not to have that crap on there

The wheel is a 3m eraser wheel. Best 15$ I've spent.

Used to remove vinyl decals, striping tapes, and double sided foam tapes. Will not scratch acrylic enamal or urethane paint. DO NOT USE ON LACQUER PAINT

If plan on buffing your car you could wet sand the pin stripes off with 2000 grit sand paper

please just use a heat gun and save yourself time, paint and money make sure you dont use any type of metal scraper when removing the pinstripes just use a plastic bondo knife or your fingernails, also you can remove your model badge as well the same way

thanks for the great comment. it took 20 hours because it was the original pinstripe from 11 years ago, and the adhesive had almost become part of the paint. trust me, it didn't come off easily.
