Part number for RE-010's...

Anyhow,
Well, so the other day I went to an Acura Dealer and asked the parts counter for RE010's... they were totally puzzled and thought I was a crazed maniac for insisting that these were the tires that came on the ITR.
In fact he said, and I quote, "as far as I know, they must have been RE92's, those are our best selling tires". My GF's EL (aka. high-end civic that Acura makes up here for us canucks) comes with those... I mean... how could those come on the type AAAaaRrr.
So after arguing him for a bit, he told me that I should probably check other tire places, which I responded that this tire was only available through Honda/Acura dealers...
Getting to the point, he told me to come back with a part number, because they were "coming up" on the system, so... do RE010's even have a Honda Part Number?

There is no Honda part number. However, there is a Bridgestone part number, shown on the specs on Bridgestone's website. For the stock size RE010, it's 058-947.

Plus, any place dedicated to tires will probably do it faster.

Actually, I disagree. My advice would be to check the Tire Rack price first, then talk to the dealer and see if they will match it. Keep sales tax and shipping in mind too.
My dealer charges less for mounting/balancing tires than the independent mechanics and tire shops near home.
If it's more expensive at the dealer, sure, go elsewhere. But it doesn't hurt to ask how much they charge.

ray... order the tires and get them mounted in buffalo or the states... MUCH much cheaper... re010's and just tires in general are $$$$ up here. take advantage of the lame US dollar.

If they are not, which I really doubt, the RE010s will be better in every other catagory.

ES100's suck big time. The RE010 is far superior in the dry for certain. I cannot compare in the wet.
Consider getting S-03's rather than the RE010 if you're going to the States for the tires. Or if you want to save more consider trying the KDW-2.
I'm talking in a 205/50/15, which should run just fine on your wheels. My friend fso_BamBam has been running those for a long time on stock rims IIRC.

I'm wearing out the last of my yok's right now... enjoyed my RE010's much much more. got much better wear out of my potenzas on the road, they handled my abuse on the track a LOT better as well and handling was great in the dry. handling in the wet was fine with the RE010's, can't really say with the ES100's since I've wore off most of the tread in a month this summer. worth the extra $ IMO. i'll probably be going back. but for how cheap they were, i shouldn't complain.

Yes, definitely.
The RE010 is significantly better for dry traction and handling feel. They're both good for wet traction. The ES100 lasts longer and is a lot less expensive. Those are the trade-offs; use them to decide what is best for your particular priorities.

I ran re010s on 15x7 for about 15k miles; the steering response is awesome. Still using 195/55-15 Advan AD07s now (instead of 205/50-15) for same reason.
