LOL I was going to ask this question myself yesterday.

How do you achive that angle though. Do you have a bandsaw you close down on the piece or do you have a stand up one? Is there a jig you use to do it? anyn pictures? care to share the angle on a 2-1 collector/

Yea your really gonna need a bandsaw i personally use a horizontal, and have a jig made up that holds the pipe in place.

Good trick is to use pvc pipe for figuring out jig, angles and what not. That way your not wasteing good pipe.

I have the to scale vectorworks drawing(similar to cad. i dont have CAD so this is what i had to use) on my computer, all you need to do is download the small file and the viewer(19MB free from their site).

This was made for Schedule 40 SS304. You can use Schedule 10 to. The deminsions i was given for the T3 flange were wrong, but i have a flange here and i compared and the cuts still work.

Basically all you need to do is lay the piece of pipe on the piece of paper, make a mark on the places where cuts need to be made. connect the two points with a line, cut along that line at the desired angle with a horizontal bandsaw. To figure the angle, measure the distance from the line on the paper to the outside of the pipe(X). Then figure about how high you want it to go(Y), then type Tan-1(Y/X) whatever angle that comes out to, adjust it on your horizontal bandsaw and line it up, drop the saw, see how things go.

I havent been able to test it on a horizontal bandsaw since i dont have access(BOOO) but i tried it on a verticle one with PVC(yes, the same specs as your SS aka use it for a mockup) and it came out like garbage because it was very difficult to setup a guide system. Horizontal is def. the best way to go.

Anyone interested in the vectorworks file so they can just print it out and use it as their guide here are the links:

BTW: if this works for anyone, i expect a a free collector

the whole first post i listed is about making jigs. like was said above. a lot of people dont share how to make a jig because it takes a lot of time to set it up and get it perfect. buy one of their sets and figure out how to make cuts like they did

Yeah, but I was trying to figure out some angles and stuff. the one jig idea I saw I'm probly going to use. oh well. When I figure it out I'll share to those who want to know. Better yet I'll sell it for $5.00 per person LOL

You guys must be tards because i just posted instructions that should REALLY get you started in the right direction. Hell, i even spent the time to make the collector a freaking rectangle vs what everyone else does which makes it a square.
