Have you tried pumping the clutch pedal?

Sounds like the issue I had. It turned out to be a bad clutch.

How old is your clitch??

If the pedal doesnt come back up its your clutch clyinder. Had same problem and replaced both master and slave cylinder.

could be a lot of stuff...most likely a slave cylinder...does it go into the other gears? try shutting it off and then try switching....make sure you have no coins or somthing stuck somewhere in the shifter.

HAHAHA. Guys, drive your car and then try to push it out of gear without using the clutch. It will come right out. There is NO WAY it is his clutch master or slave cylinder.

A bad clutch master or slave cylinder might prevent him from putting the car in gear. It WILL NOT prevent him from taking it out of gear.

The only two things that I think it could be is the clutch or the shift fork. I am willing to bet it is a bad clutch (warped clutch disk).

I can still start my car... i was in reverse and i can reverse my car but it wouldn't let me go back into neutral. i kinda forced it into neutral so that i can push my car forward... not it's just stuck in neutral... is it the clutch??? also when i step on the pedal it still comes up...

Check the oil level in the tranny. Mine did that once and it was almost empty...

Sounds like a clutch issue to me. I would first check the tranny oil.

If it's not the tranny oil, I would have to say it is the clutch. How old is your clutch?? Do you drag race a lot??

JDM H22 swap??

You should've seen how bad my JDM H22 clutch was when I got the car. It was so warn down that the clutch disk rivets started gringing into the flywheel.

I assume you did not change the clutch while the motor was out, did you??

Yeah. I guess they don't care about the motor if they know they are going to have to change it a few years down the road anyway.

I changed the clutch, oil pump, timing belt, seals, water pump, intake manifold gasket, and a few other things before I swapped the motor in. I didn't want to risk ANYTHING. It's too expensive to skimp, only to find out a clutch or an oil pump is bad and then have to pull the motor out again.

My clutch in my swap was exactily the same way......i think they threw an old crappy clutch in mine because the tranny was from a different engine.....so im betting your clutch is owned too

Don't forget to re-surface your flywheel as well.
