Default Diagnosing igniton problem

88 CRX SI 204 000 KM
I have a code 15 and have had for a while. I have been told that it is likley my ignitor, but how can I tell if it is failing. One thing I notice with my car is that is smells like its burning really rich, and sometimes feels like the clutch is slipping at high revs, wich is possible. Could I also attribute this feeling to failing ignitor or some other component in the ignition system. The car still gets good gas milage and seems to have no power loss, but I don't really have any other civic or CRX to compare to. Thanks in advance

aparently the "tech" in honda tech means you only get help as long as you dont have a d-series engine

If i were you i'd follow the precedure's listed below...first reset your ecu as it says.

Could be becuase the spark isn't burning all fuel before it is removed from the combustion chamber...do whats said in links above to fix the code and then check your spark plugs to see if they are totally BLACK. When you run rich this is what you'll see. Running normally they should be brown.

Fix the code first then see if this still happens.

Kinda odd, usually you'd feel some power loss with not so good of a burn...oh well. Fix the code and check your plugs...then you'll know it's running right.
