Hey im prepping to do the conversion on my prelude from the gross green to a Blue color

Deciding whether to just use a blue film

http://www.misterart.com/store...d=420 ?

or to get leds!!

wondering if i just put he film in between if it will be bright enough?

also, do i have any other options with color.. RED would be sweet too (amber)

possible?

If you decide to buy film, you can get that stuff at your nearest hobby store for cheaper than those prices, but I'd go with LEDs IMO

i went with the film just in my clock, temp gauge, and fuel gauge b/c i already have blue indiglo gauges to match. i think the temp gauge and fuel gauges are decently bright but the clock is almost non existant when you turn on the lights.

i'd recommend led's

I would think it would depend on how much work you want to put into it. Putting the film over it would be easiest, but I'm sure it wouldn't look as good as LED's.

I plan on using the film myself though, I'm to lazy =\

told me he used the film for the gas and temp

where you use the film you couldnt use LEDs

the film goes over the gas/temp and speedo/tach guages....you cant just buy LEDs and put them in there....those things have to be done with film.....the LEDs are for the rest of the little tiny bulbs that glow that greenish color right now.....you put LEDs in their place

i pretty much have everything in order for what im gonna do right now but one last thing, is it a bulb that illuminates the key ring...b/c i want to do that tooo.....

never thought of this.. but sounds good
you guys know if you can do it on a 92? (without an el guage cluster) like on the actual guage cluster.. replace the bulbs in it presently with leds?.....
i know you cna do it to the rest of the bulbs...
but leds are two pin connected ... like two small wires... where as the little bulbs are peanut bulbs as some call them.. do you just solder the two ends of the led's to the "connnection" of the reg bulbs?
if anyone has any pic please post..
dont really have time to pull my dash out at the moment lol
but will have to soon to rip out my abs light

Thats nice. The hard part is getting the red to show up on the temp slider and rear defroster button. Did he tell you how he got those working?

"Just take out about 5 screws under your steering wheel and remove it to reveal the keyring piece. The piece consists of a circuit board and plastic around it that holds the circuit board in place. You're gonna need a soldering iron to unsolder 2 large soldered leads which hold the circuit and the plastic together. After that, simply remove the plastic and you'll see the small rectangular LED you need to change. I just used a 3mm LED and sanded it down A LOT so that it would fit. Reassemble and you're done. It sounds pretty complicated but once you get started you'll see how everything works just by looking at it. Goodluck"

Man, this is starting to look pretty good to me, hehe. I wonder exactly how many LED's I would need? All blue except one the defroster and i guess i'll leave the hazard red. My only problem is I have a '92 (No EL guage), and the black faceplate has what looks like little spatters of light showing through from behind, I wonder if I could just paint over it? I'd look for a replacement but all i've seen so far for gauges is just those reverse ones which are white in the daytime and totally contrasts my all-black interior.
