Just bought a 98 prelude SH, clutch problems
I just bought a 98 prelude Sh, and it feels like the clutch is starting to go (sometimes a little sticky when shifting into first and second, as well as reverse). Anyways my question is does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should replace it with. Things I'm doing in the next little while include exhaust, lightweight flywheel, and AEM V2 cold air induction. This car is a daily driver, and won't be used on the track or anything, but i will be adding on more bolt-ons in the future and want to get a good reliable clutch that can handle up to 250-325 hp. Thanks for any help in advance.
IF you're gonna go with boltons you dont need a "racing" clutch. The stock clutch is fine, it'll last you a lot longer too.
Most likley you'll be putting down under 200whp at with boltons. But if you have to go with aftermarket, the popular thing is a lightweight Fidanza clutch, and a Exedy Clutch(I like the cerametallica).

I am at 179whp with just an intake, cat, and cat-back exhaust.
I wonder what a nice header could do for me.
Just go for an Exedy race clutch. I honestly think an Exedy OEM clutch (the one you car get off of eBay for $120 shipped to you from ClutchCityOnline).

Thanks for all the advice.. I have one question though 99_SH, If I were to get the OEM clutch that would last longer then a stage 2 street clutch say from clutchmasters. Thanks everyone for the suggestions, I'm pretty much a newb to cars, but learning!

Personally I think the stock clutch will outlast all the others, and is most likley built better(than ACT or Clutchmasters). I've never heard of aftermarket clutches lasting 100K miles like the stockers do.
Its your call. Drive it easy and most clutches will last you a good amount of time. But seriously though, if you dont need the extra grabbing power why waste your money. Get the lightweight flywheel if you must and call it a day!
