i've got some rims that have a pretty fat lip and i wanna polish it up. i was wondering if i needed to use aircraft strip remover or can i just sand off the clearcoat and then just polish it up. is this how u do it?

aircraft stripper. 1200 grit sandpaper. rubbing compound. mothers polish. buff.

 

can i just use a polish to try and polish it without trying to sand? will it work?

 

nope. if its clearcoated, you gotta get ridda the paint and expose the bare metal. you cant polish paint.
