you can tap into a wire off ur ECU for a rpm signal..
i just dont kno which pin it is..
i had my old tach set up this way before i bought my si cluster

correct.
watch out which blue wire you try and splice tho.. i can't remember on the 88-91 engines, but i kno with the d15b now, if you try and follow the blue wire, it comes out around the back and then there are 2 blue wires, so follow closely..

Yes, ECU RPM signal is where mine is hooked up to.
5 inch Monster tach = +10HP

WTF is that like instant HP???? **** that ! as if one tach wasnt enough you need "MONSTER TACH" Stoopid ricer ***
Why dont you just go to the junkyard and find one with a tach from the same year car..like a 4 door LX ..your just gonna attract thieves with that F&F look...

Some of us live where thieves aren't as prevalent and if they want a car bad enough, a super-sized tachometer isn't going to change their be their baseline decision. Also, chill out, instant horsepower is used when referencing anything that may be associated with "Show Mods" (Around here called rice). Also, some of us would like to have a tach that is slightly more accurate then stock, but do not have the money for an aftermarket unit (Anything with a digital display) that displays RPM among other things. And in conclusion...

eh..i guess ...i rather put the money to something more useful, then again if he has spent all his money on egine mods and not ricer mods then i guess it wouldnt hurt. However, why a 5" tach...how about a smaller 3" autometer tach... and who says the stock honda tachs arent precise???

But you have to keep in my mind that this is ~normal. When parts start getting old like ours have become, inaccuracy becomes a concern.

i would have to say that a 5 inche tach is definitly rice considering your prolly buying it so others think you have a fast car with that enormous tach "bling bling"

I do! My factory tach sucks... Autometer will recalibrate their tachs for free if needed.

Rice??.How is this rice to you??
Its a performance gauge wether its on a fast car or slow car..It gives an accurate reading the the engines rpm..How is that rice when its function..
Yeah I know some people put it on for the look but that doesnt make the car or product rice...It makes the owner a ricer...
people that call everything rice **** me off.......

Dont know if someone said it but you can use the power from the clock, thats what I did in my std. it didnt have a clock but the wire is still there

i was actually just messing...funny to see it got a rise outta you though
i beleive the green wire is the RPM signal. i had one hooked up to the ECU when i had MY SAFC installed. i forget what ECU pin out it was from....

IMHO the easiest place to hook it up is behind the gauge cluster, it's the blue wire on the plug thats on the drivers side and it's usually like one of the wires all the way on the last pin of the plug. This is what we did on my friend's in-dash 3in VDO tach
