Best way to mount video cam in the car?
Hi guys,
I am leaving Tokyo in 2 months and will need to sell my car.........
I am thinking to mount the video cam in the car while I drive around tokyo, so I can watch the movie to remind me of Tokyo and my DC2 after I am gone.....
Do you guys have any good idea on how to mount the video cam in the car?
Any suggestions welcome!

That looks like it's begging to spear the driver in the neck
Here's how mine was mounted:

It's mounted differently now on the harness bar itself. The above old way used to get too much of the rearview mirror in the picture.
What about one of those C's or J's C pillar bars? That's the only real useful thing I could see one of them purchased for.

Then just go driving around with a buddy riding shotgun with the camera.

Neither, I agree but I also mentioned either a Cusco or J's Racing C pillar bar. Which over there can't be all that much $ and would be easier to sell and less hassle than the rollbar or cutting and fabbing the spear you pictured. It's Japan right? I'm sure he could find a mount to the C pillar bar in the land of the Camera and Rising Sun.

I have a Speedware bar but this one is the same thing from Sparco. I'm using it with JDM Recaros as well.

Agreed But, he's In Japan currently, so wouldn't it be more feasable to buy a J's racing or Cusco C pillar bar that are made and sold in Japan, instead of buying an American made product then shipping it to Japan?
Here's the J's racing piece:

somethign attached to the b pillar instead of the c would be more practical.
my advice is to go to Yodobashi and buy a camera mount that screws into the bottom of the camera, and then get some materials from a homecenter and make your own.

How about a couple zip ties through the headrest belt slots? Worked for me for a ride around, didn't move at all and it was cheap, easy and quickly taken down if needed.

Agreed, that's a dangerous design. I have something similar, but goes across both headrests.
How about a suction cup solution:

I may have to go this route myself, once the racing seat is put in.

If your camera is light enough you could pick up a small suction camera mount and stick it on the window. I've found mine works well enough for 20 minute city drives.

Here is what you want.

You can rent it for only $750 a day
