Default Oil Filters

What oil filters do you guys recommend? I went to the Honda Dealer and bought some but they are the Fram made Honda filters. Where can I get the Toyo Roki filters or Filtech?

Thanks in advance!

A Honda Oil Filter made by FRAM, I have never heard of such a thing, usually the Honda Oil Filters I get from the dealer are blue, I just buy filters for GSR, every once in a while ill spend the extra couple $ for the HAMP filter because the dealer I go to has them. I always buy Honda Filters and use Castrol GTX 10w-30

I usually use STP filters...but they didnt have any last time i changed my oil so im using a bosch now . I use the STP because it has more holes and theyre larger than the fram...i dont know if it helps anything but it just looks like it would flow better. And i dont use anything except castrol syntec...weight varies depending on time of year.

Yeah mine are blue too. They have a Honda stamp on the top and on the side it says manufactored by Fram.

They were 7 dollars each! I think I got ripped off, but this particuler dealer tried to pull the wool over my eyes before. Anywhere on the net the sales Honda Filters that you use?

Look at the manufacture on the oil filter! Honeywell = FRAM

Your Honda dealership just have a batch of 15400-PLM-A01 Fram filters left over they're trying to get rid of. Honda doesn't carry those anymore and they're superceded by the 15400-PLM-A02 Filtech Filters now.

So the next time I need a Oil filter hopefully it will be the good ones. I should call ahead perhaps.

Thanks for the input!

That wouldn't hurt, just tell them to check the A02 number for you. Saves you a trip.

Your welcome

I just use FRAM after finding out that they produce Honda's oil filters. They're a bit cheaper as well and do the job.

Just by a cheap filter if you change oil on a regular basis. No use of buying the expensive stuff.

i generally use STP filters after reading a comparo done by overboost.com. they compared internals and dimensions, and STP came out just a tick under PureOne, but I can't find those. since i'm already spending like $20+ on Mobil1 Synthetic, may as well spend the extra couple bucks and get a filter with more filtering element, right?

why does it matter which manu. makes the honda filters, if honda thinks they are good enough to put their name on, then its good enough for me.

But they changed from FRAM to Filtech so what does that tell you?

from what I recall reading last year or the year before on here, there was a filter test & the K&N won hands down on the flow rate. I prefer them as you don't need a filter wrench, you can use a ratchet, but they are like $13-$14 a piece VS the $3-$4 of a regular filter.

BTW, I use Bosch b/c they are cheap

K&N has changed since then and now uses a different filter material that is cheaper and not as good! This info and argument was in a thread a few monthes ago.

Mine are the A02 and they Made By Fram on them. There must be a new batch of A02's that are made by Filtech.
