Default Honda CBR929 Remote start question

I'm fitting an alarm on my bike with remote start every thing is on but I can't get the remote start to work right. The ignition has the diode in it which drops the volts that tells the computer to kick on the fuel system. With the remote wire connected to the ignition I only get lights on but no fuel system on. I put a diode between the remote wire and ignition switch this works but the diode gets hot and burns up if the ignition switch is not turned on soon after remote start, as soon as the switch is on the diode cools down. Does any one know of a way around this didoe and any thing about hooking up remote start on a bike with the safty switch diode ignition?

I was am thinking the same thing. Its not like its hard to start a bike or anything, you don't really need to warm it up like a car to get heat.

well I know how to remote start my bike and no it's not dangerous it only will start in NEUTRAL. It's very cool and I love to start it when people are looking at it in a parking lot. If any one want's to know how it's very easy just email me and i'll send you the part number and name of the unit i used you can go pick it up or order on-line.

theres probly an anti-theft device on it, just like on cars.

In cars, if someone puts the ebrake down the car will turn off.

On a bike, probly when someone tries to put it in gear or put up the kickstand it will probly turn off.

I may be wrong though .. but it is a security system, not a "security system with integrated 'free start up' for thieves"

I have to agree with the newb on this one.

What makes remote starting a bike so "retarded?"

The point IS, you can remotely start the bike and warm it up.

Maybe its not a big deal to just walk out and warm up your bike, but some people may want to warm it up while they're getting geared up. Saves some time.

Or maybe they like to know that the battery's ok and they didn't get all suited and booted for nothing. I'm sure there's plenty of (what may seem petty to some) reasons but don't flame the poor guy.

He had a legitimate motorcycle related question in a motorcycle forum. If you can prove that its dangerous or just plain stupid, enlighten us. Otherwise, keep the flaming to yourselves.
