i just got a gsr swap on my 89crx and my valve cover is rubbing on my hood, what i whant to know is where exactly do i have to cut so my hood could close right. thanks
This is what I did to find out where it was hitting.
Grab a wad of Play-Doh and make a little mountain of it on a spot of your valve cover. Have it stick up about and inch and a half. Close the hood, open it back up and see how much it got squashed down. you now know how much clearance you have there. If it is smashed down quite a bit, cut out that section of the hood supports. (it usually leaves a wet/oily spot on the bottom of the hood)
Do this on various spots around the valve cover until you cant find anywhere else that it hits.
Your other choice is to drive around for a few weeks until the hood wears through the paint on the valve cover.
