he was tryin to say that the z6 tranny has the closest gear ratio out of all the D-series in the US. Better to either swap it or go boost on it..............
swap it and turbo it out....if ur looking to go cheaper turbo the d16....
if it makes u feel better its the best out of d
series...lol...goodluck

wtf??best sohc us motor??nope. the Y8 is. back when i had my y8 in my eg with intake, exhaust, ecu and clutch i would beat up on z6's like nothing...that had MORE **** done
Just turbo your car, d16z6's are pretty strong. If around 200whp aint enough, buy some rods/pistons and go for like 300whp, that should be plenty of power to have some fun with.

This coming from the man who took time into making a mini me D16
The D16 is a good starting off Vtec engine. If you got it already use it, learn it, drive it into the ground. Once you've got the hang of it, start saving your money and planning on what you really want from your honda.
If it's good enough for you, keep it. if your looking for more power, b series is there for the taking... that is if you got $3000 more or less.
if you want BIG hp and you wanna rip it up at the drag, buy something domestic, slap in a big v8, throw on a supercharger from a trackter and call it a day. rofl!
welcome to H-T

if it only has 2hp and a few ft-lbs of torque, how can it be that much better??? not to mention that the z6 has smaller rods, therefore less mass to move

damn...well thanks everyone!! It's my first Honda, and thats the motor in it..I think i'm gonna play with what i have(d16z6) like turbo it and stuff..I love this honda thing cause it's so cheap for parts and stuff...I have always been into VW but i crashed my vr6 so i bought a honda si and...gas is great when you drive 25miles to work everyday..I think it would be cheaper to turbo than swap so turbo for now..anyone know a good turbo system out there??? OH yeah, 2 people on here talked about vtec, one said it DOES have vtec and the other said it DOESN'T..which one is it???
It does have VTEC.
For turbo systems, kind of depends on how much knowledge you have. If you know what you're doing, piece a kit together. You can make sure you get what you want and it would likely be cheaper. If you don't know as much, look at a Greddy kit probably.
Check out the forced induction forum too, there is a wealth of knowledge in there.

The only big advantage b-series motors have over d-series motors is they can handle more power in stock form. I see no other big reason to want to go b-series. They ******* cost a **** load more right from the start. Spare parts like a tranny, block, head, etc... will all cost an arm and a leg if you can find them at all. For the price of swapping a GSR, B16, LS/Vtec in your car, you could completely build up your d-series motor and build a custom turbo kit for it. Hell almost any cheap junkyard turbo kit on a stock d-series motor will smoke a b-series swap (type r, gsr, b16, ls/vtec, etc...) easily, if you build it right and aren't a moron.
A b16 is just another torqueless 1.6. Your d16z6 is a great beginner motor. I wish I had one. I've seen some hella fast cars with the mighty single cam.
go with the d16z6 that is what i am putting in once i can afford it. im a cheap ***. but just throw a turbo on it, but buy it all seperatly then you can get a good and nice turbo and you will easily smoke b series.
