civic ideling outta control
ok my cusin just bought a honda civic, it had major wiring probems that i fixed, the car could have easily started on fire and im surprised it didnt. it had redwires with electircal tape coneceted to clear wires, conected to white wires with gause and more electrical tape for some stupid neon lights on it.
anyways when we drive the car its fine till you come to a stop, the car has to be in "D" and it will almost die out, kinda like if you had big cams in a v8 kinda that sound but it does sound good at all. you can see the light for the motor to die out on the instrument panel but just before it dies it kicks back up.
at first we wanted to blame the idel air control, but then we noticed if you throw it in "N" it doesnt make the noise it is peaceful, acceleration feels funny like it is almost slipping, do you think the torque convertor is not disengaging or something? im leaning towards it need something done tranny wise.
what do you guys think?
damn hunduhz this is probably gonna cost a pretty penny to fix, the idel air control would have been real easy to replace. this guys who owned the car must have been beating the sh*t outta it cause it only has like 50k miles on it.
oh and its got a CIVIC SIR Badge what now. 15 hp and it came like that. lol f*cking ricer put so much stupid sh*t on that car. i riped everything out. get this RED HEADLIGHT BULBS TO MATCH THE RED CAR! wire mess in the grill, debadged "H" symobols neons all in the inside.
he picked up the car for 4k and some change so he got a good deal on it, it is the 1998 i believe with the vtec motor in it. im not sure tho im not big on the hondas, whats the deal guys? torque converter or idel air?
i also checked the throttle postioning screw? it isnt that so what do you guys know about these cars? do you think its the tq converter like i assume? or idle air?
thank you,
