OBD0 B16 into OBD1 94 EG Civic , No plug for sensor
Im putting an OBD0 B16 into my EG and using all obd1 parts (dizzy, injectors, ecu etc.) and of course the OBD1 EX wiring harness of my d16z6. Heres the problem.
There is a sensor that has two prongs and has a green coolant looking color around it (inside the circle is the best i can describe it). Its located to the left/down from the knock sensor, and to the right of the altenator. Theres no plug on the OBD1 harness to plug that in to. What do i do? Is that sensor necessary on an OBD1 ecu? Do i splice the plug off the OBD0 harness and splice it into the OBD1 harness. Any help would be great. Thanks HT!!

That's the radiator fan switch. On the OBD1 cars it on the housing for the thermostat. You need to reroute the wires over there or use an OBD1 thermostat housing with the fan switch on it.

hrm didnt know that was the swtich, question though, since i ignore it usually...my fans still work, is there another switch in use? or would it be because i have been using obd1 heads and stuff on older blocks?
Like brian g said it's the fan switch. Just to elaborate a little more, on the first gen B16A's, B18A's and older D15/D16's that were in the EF's, the switch is on the back of the block near the oil filter. It has 2 males prongs like the oil sensor with a big black rubber boot that covers the 2 female connectors. On the newer motors they put the switch on the thermostat housing as a regular round 2 prong sensor. What you need to do is either change the water pipe and thermostat on the older motor to one from a newer motor and then you can use the factory sensor connector on OR keep the older sensor on the back of the block and extend the wiring to there and use 2 female end connectors.
