aluminum rollbar?
Not hard to understand at all. Most rollbars in street cars are not intended for rolling.
That said, all of the factory Porsche 935s and 956s had aluminum roll structures. They weren't particularly well put together, either. We also had a Matter aluminum bolt-in rollcage in the Audi 4000 (actually a Gr4 Audi 80 originally) that we ralllied back in the mid-1980s. It was a factory prepared, FIA homologated unit and was really a work of art.
