Its not gonna be very easey. You defentley need air tool to polish them. There are some aluminum sealers like Zoopseal or somthing that should help them stay shinney.

well.. actually, if you strip them and then clean them off, then polish them, I'm guessing you mean using some 3m polish compound, no, the paint will not stick to the wheel surface. I don't think there's a way.

But if you wetsand and use a buffing wheel with a dremel with out any compound, there's a can of clear adhesive that works like primer paint that will get the clear coat to bond with the wheel surface. That clear adhesive can be found in the paint section at home depot or menards.

hope this helps.

have you ever polished wheels before?..if not id recommend paying for it to be done professionally..anyways if you want to strip them and try to polish them up just polish them like regular and once they have the shine you want strip the polish and wax off of the metal with some thinner and try clear coating them..once the metal is polished you can strip things off of the surface and they wont lose thier shine..just strip the polish/wax off of the polished surface with paint thinner and clear coat them after they are 100% dry..as long as you dont miss any of the wax when removing it with the thinner and as long as you dont touch the clean surface with your bare hands the clear will stick...also..do you know how to paint?..if not your gonna have a hell of a time and will probally wish you would have just payed someone to do it right the first time..good luck and post pics when your done
