worth it to buy an R with 100K miles?
i am in the market for an R and plan to do some roadracing and autoxing with it. if the caR has 100k miles, does it affect the ability of the caR to handle well. ie does it lose stiffness or anything like that? and will the caR's track life in its current stock form be short as a result? (assuming the car was never before raced and only daily-driven).
thanks in advance guys

A new set of bushings wouldn't hurt, Energy Suspension sells a "complete" set of bushings for a reasonable price. It is a Honda, it'll last a really long time in stock form, even on the track. Check to see if you can get an idea of how much oil it burns, maybe take a peek at the spark plugs to look for anything bizzare. I'm sure I'm not the only one that has taken a Honda to 200K miles... just maintenance gets a little more frequent.
But yeah, everything has a price, you should be able to get a bargain on a high mileage car. If you think you're overpaying, get one with less miles.

year for year ........ same items are going to fail even if it is a low mileage car. In addition how did they put those miles on ? Did it get a lot of city driving where they had to use the brakes and car had a tendency to get hot, or were these highway miles with little use of brakes and low heat. Case in point ... I purchased two 300ZX convertibles, one for me with 70,000 miles and one for my wife with 17,000 miles. The one with 17,000 is costing me more since the owner never did anything to it but store it in his garage. The higher mileage car got regular service with brake jobs, timeing belt etc., other then cosmetic the higher mileage car was the better car in my opinon.
MHO is that don't worry about mileage as much as doing your homework by checking out the car and getting a good mechanic to look it over. Integras will last for a long time if taken care of. My son has a 94 with over 200,000 miles and it is still going stong. I have a 97 ITR, it was ridden hard and put up wet to many times. I now have to spend a lot to get it back into the shape it should be with less then 80,000 miles

If it doesn't burn oil, has good compression, no tranny grinds, and has had all the needed tune-ups (timing belt and water pump especially) you shouldn't have any worries.
A new set of shocks will most likely be in order if you want it to really feel as crisp as it did new, but depending on how it has been driven they could still be in decent shape and shouldn't need any immediate attention.

thanks a lot guys. the car is a 98 R and the asking price is 13k.
it is supposedly a daily driver with 100k "highway miles" on it.
the only other thing is that its in Canada, and unless i can get it for a really good deal, its not worth the headache of transportation here.

Here's my humble opinon...
I wouldn't take $13,000 for my R w/119,892. I wouldn't take it because even before I switched suspensions this year, the car would out run all but a few of the R's at HPDE's. The other cars on the track (porsches, vettes, etc) just won't do the trick as easily as this car unless the driver spends LOTS of time learning to drive those beasts.

Back to your original question. Engine tune-up (oil pump, water pump, timing belt, etc.) and a good set of shocks and bushings.
