Default STILL taking on water! Baffling!

I cannot believe this. Once again, rain for the past 2 days. I made new taillight gaskets on Saturday and installed them, and last night I looked and did not see any water in my trunk spare tire well. Yay for me.

Well today around noon (been pouring rain all day) I noticed moisture inside my windshield, and then found my passenger side carpet wet under the floormat. Just great, not yay for me. I look more and find water sitting in my spare tire well (DAMMIT!!!) and even found a little bit of water dribbling from somewhere out onto the plastic tray on the rear seat bench.

Keep in mind, this is NOT coming from the dashboard or heater core or whatever. The carpet nearest the passenger side firewall is totally dry. It's the carpet that's down flat, directly in front of the passenger side seat that is soaked.

Could this be my sunroof drain tubes? This is seriously pissing me off, guess I will now have to rip out my whole interior AGAIN and try to see what's up.

I HATE RAIN!!!!! the kind that continues for days and days that is.

It's probably your tail light gasket again but also check your sunroof drain tubes on both sides behind the plastic trim.

I highly doubt it is the gaskets, as I just made brand new ones, AND installed them with silicone sealant.

I'll see if I can get to those tubes. I just hate that you have to pull out EVERYTHING in the back in order to get those side trim panels out. It's a PITA if you try to just pull out on the rear portion of the side trim panels.

If it is those, how the hell did it soak my passenger side floorboard carpet?

Is there any way to get to the drain tubes up top at the sunroof opening?

Is your carpet soaked where the rear seats are? And yeah, getting to the drain tubes is a pain because of the rear side panels being one huge piece. Some people have drilled a hole in their spare tire well and it might be an option for you if you can't figure out the problem.

I'm not drilling holes in my car. It wouldn't drain 100% of the water out, and would probably allow some water to get in there also.

I don't think the carpet by the rear seats is soaked, at least not yet. It was before I pulled out everything a couple weeks ago, though.

you might want to check your weatherstripping around the hatch and doors. I know that mine's starting to go, and I've got a 99. Just something to look into.

Well here's the thing, nothing visible inside the car, other than the carpet, was wet. The rear seat was not wet (except underneath, I have standing water around my fuel pump cover ). The seatbacks weren't wet, the cargo area carpet is not wet. Even the pass. side floormat is NOT wet, while there is a soaking wet spot underneath where the floormat was.

I have pulled all my trim out and everything out of the back and I still can't figure it out. I blew compressed air at 100 psi up both sunroof drain tubes but neither one seemed to be clogged.

I saw a few drops of water coming down the rear bulkhead from around the bolts where the rear bumper bolts on, but there's no way all this water came from that. Last night there was nothing, tonight I have 1" of water standing in the spare tire well. I can't seem to trace a path of wetness to find where it's coming in.

But now I have to go pull the whole damn carpet out AGAIN!

I think I will have to leave it stripped out again this week, and then get my dad to spray water all over the car this weekend while I crawl around inside and try to find where water might be coming in.

Water will leave tracks in the powder.

Sounds like more than one leak anyway. I don't see how you can get water in the sparetire well and the front floor from the same leak.

When the carpet's out, look around the firewall. There's what?, about 800 holes with wires or hoses going thru?? Maybe there's a rubber grommet that's not seated properly.

How about any rust? (Don't know what part of the world you live in...)

I live in the South, highly doubt any rust is present.

I did not see any moisture and the carpet was completely dry where it turns up the firewall. The wet part was directly in front of the pass. seat. There was also water underneath both seats, but the floor in front of the driver seat was completely dry.

i have the EXACT same problem as you do, when it rains i have an inch high of water in the trunk and water underneath the rear *** seats... well i kinda figured that the water that leaks to the rear bottom seats is from the water that leaks in from the side of the trunk and the water slides to the rear seats... i was told to take out all the rear interior panels and have one of ur buddies spray ur car with water for a while and see exactly where the water is coming in from... i just never got around to doing that but yeah im sure its somewhere in the rear and doubt its from those holes where the rear seat brackets slide into...
BTW do you have, had ,or heard of any brake problems on 94+integra as where the pedal sinks to the ground?

First check & rule out any leaking brake fluid anywhere, then here's what you got next...

If the pedal's soft & low but becomes good with pumping the pedal, that's usually just air in the lines. Bleed them again.

If the brakes are solid when you first apply them, but the pedal sinks slowly & smoothly while you apply light pressure (like at a red light); then your MC is bad.
