rear brake UPDATE..still have a q tho??????
whats happenin all...
well my right/rear caliper piston was fucked... had to replace the entire caliper. right/rear only. Now, i had changed my rear pads a few months back and unfortunately didn't have time to make THIS fix on my own. I took it to Meineke to save myself the time because i needed the car fixed asap. I paid $540 for everything: new r/r caliper, r/r rotor, and new pads, plus labor.
I def agree with what some may say in that I "overpaid" /ripped off.... $$ isn't the issue. just needed a quick fix cuz my brakes def weren't releasing properly.
now that theyve made the fix and put on new pads on BOTH SIDES, im experiencing a low humming sound when i brake. not a loud scraping or screaching noise as if they needed to be replaced, but a low humming noise. is that just the new pads trying to break in??? it's not happening all the time, just every so often. i just got the car back yesterday. if the problem persists i plan on bringing it back..but i wanted to ask for some opinions or thoughts first. sorry if my description of the sound is vague... no other way to really describe it..lol
