Default an-r header fitment..b16

i have recently bought an an-r compact header, and am trying to fit it to my b16..trouble is it does not fit..it hits on the steel bracket next to the sump and hits the power steering bottom bolt/body of p/steering pump.i have tried moving the pump to its highest level and it still hits and even if it did not,i would not be able to adjust the belt as its at its top level...i thought they were supposed to clear all this..fitment is real bad..it looks like the only way to fit is have no power steering/which is a no as drive everyday..or smash the pipe in to like half the size it should be...and then it probably wony work very well..??advice despratelty needed..thanks..

yeah..i dont think youre able to have the power steering if youre using those headers.

i do not remember selling or sending any headers to england. i remember you emailing us several times and even asked for bank wire transfer info to order a header but you never sent payment.
where or who did you buy the header from? our compact headers will clear power steering unless you got a used header and it was one of our first compact designs then it will not clear. there are other manufacturers that also make this same design and i know that theirs will not clear power steering pumps.

i dont think theres anything you can do to make it fit if it was an earlier design. i noticed in that thread that he had a b18 block and you said you have a b16 block. that might have something to do with it too since we make them specifically for each block.

i have managed to fit the header to the block, with a bolt in each hole on the flange..i was thinking as the bottom power steering casing is sitting on the header tube, could i cut the pipe out on the welds you have done and re tig a new pipe the same in,but have the pipe bent with more of an angle on it so it clears the p/steering bolt/body..would the header still work well if this was done..as i cant see any way round it,unless the pipe is smashed in quiet a bit..and i dont think i really want to do that..

yes re routing and rewelding that one primary will work fine if you keep the length as close as possible to the original length. make sure you grind off all the ceramic coating to get a clean weld.

I purchased the header in September of '03 so maybe it was the old design. Beario, I was totally unaware that the design had changed and was only going by the information on the website. I apologize. Consider getting the power steering removal kit from Padawan.

beario,
sorry to hear about your problem but we do not sell the tubing prebent like that. each header is made piece by piece from u bends on a motor on an engine stand.

sorry it really isnt that simple.
we would have to cut all 4 primaries and assemble a full header and tack weld it together and then take it all apart again. this would take just as much time and work as making a full header.
i suggest you buy some u bends and take it to a fabrication shop.
