the tick is your valves, dont worry they just need to be adjusted, also probaly wont cause any harm, the gas milage, sounds good to me

to adjust the valves get a haynes manual and it will tell you how, also get a new valve cover gasket if its never been replaced.

 

i always got a little more than 300 with a 94 coupe and i hav no idea about your ticking sound

 

I thought the ticking was my valves on my 94 lx, then it blew up. hah. (Ended up being a rod bearing or something installed incorrectly when I got the engine "rebuilt") But yeah, should be the valves, its like 60$ to have them adjusted. If the noise gets louder over time, beware.
