what lsvtec block girdle on setup????
I have been looking for a good block girdle for lsvtec either z10 or ge kit im not sure or just go oem block girdle? for people who have lsvtec and are runnin block girdle which do u perfer and is it better to get the kit or just the girdle?? how do i know which one to get lmk thanx
The GE 3main girdle kit is great if your starting with nothing. Comes w/ gsr baffle, pump pickup. And priced right. I think Vince has a girdle "only" advertised in the Performance Forum if you have the other pieces. Plan on having the block align honed.

What would be an advantage on the GE 5main girdle? Why would you get 5main over the 3main?

I dont think anyone makes a 5 main? 3 main is fine. Id go with a Z10 if you need a GSR Pan / pickup / windage tray Ill sell you that cheap
Pan has a small dent can be fixed as well as pickup $40 shipped for all 3 parts

I don't believe GE makes a 5main girdle though they certainly are capable. I only mentioned the 3 main since the original poster said oem gsr was an option. I've done the ERL 5 main girdle install. I know Z10 makes a 5 main but not sure if the stock oil pan is retained or must use a Z10 pan.
The 5 main is very nice but overkill for anything less than high boost, full race turbo, in reality.

Running the Z10 piece, it works fine, but remember that your may need to get your mains line bored.
My crank was almost seized whenever the girdle was torqued down, but another motor similar to mine went right together and turned smooth as silk w/o the line bore and it has a shitload more miles than mine.
Either way i would still have the crank checked, micropolished, and while your at it send out the girdle and the mains and everything and have it all done.
