6th gen h22 swap questions
I am seriously considering a JDM or USDM h22 swap for my 6th gen but have a few questions?
1. My accord is an 01 and I would need an 01 motor correct?
If so which model best suits my gen h22a, h22a1, h22 type-s, h22 type-r?
it really doesn't matter about the small HP loss just as long as the engine will fit
and work properly.
2. I have read and researched almost EVERY website, forum,
on info for 6th gen
swaps and have found NOTHING! what I have read is that the front D/S motor
mount has to be modded and if I get a 01 engine the OBDII thing would be
no problem an exact match? will the cat back and exhaust from an accord bolt
to the down pipe of an h22. Are there ANY manuals or website to aid in this
swap.
3. As far as h22 go. I read one forum that said it's stupid to waste money on an
expensive type-s motor when the pistons are already used, you could just build
a type-s motor for less? Is this realistic or just babble, I mean I think it would
be wiser but have no experience in this matter what other mods does the type
-r and type-s have. I want to keep this engine N-A and is my daily driver,
thanks for any help.

1. They reason they say get the same year motor as your car is for legality. An earlier year won't matter as far as functioning. The later the year the more expensive the engine (98+ Prelude.) As far as type, if you have money for a Euro-R H22A7 then. That's approx. $4000-$5000 I don't have. A normal JDM H22A will suffice for around $2000.
2. There's a lot of info out there. Trust me. I can point you in the direction. http://www.superhonda.com
h22 faq (huge)
3. As far as building a motor. I don't think they meant replicate the motor as much as just doing a N/A H22A build. Not saying that it is or isn't possible, but it doesn't matter. If your building for N/A you can surpass it, with the right funds in the right places, many things can be achieved.
