Default 2g's and a gsr longblock..... what would you do.

so i really need to take apart my motor. it has 120k on it 60k over the past 5 years was put on me. i never really abuse the car, but i was lazy with changing the oil. there are leaks by the camseals, gaskets and my lower main is gone i think. i neglected the motor.

so I'm thinking when it gets taken apart for a rebuild, p30 pistons, valvesprings, retainers, valveguides, prelude lmas, port match the tb, port the gsr manifold, stick with my ctr intake cam for now (get a set of more aggressive cams later) and not pnp the head.

am I nuts for not getting the head pnp'ed? i want to send the head out to a place like portflow or alaniz that is experienced in doing a top notch valvejob because it is sometimes overlooked, from what i have been reading. but will not having a pnp head be the weak link down the road? hp goal would be like 190ish, 200ish with a new set of cams. i know how important tuning is. i stress i know how important tuning is. the header will most likely be a jdm 98r 4-1 and appropriate piping after that.

the car is street driven, i can get 93 from the pumps, i need that oh-**** feeling again. i've spent hours doing searches on ht. can some of your peeps point me in the right direction? thanks

build a seperate block...and when you're done..sell your existing one.

b20z bottom end.(maybe get the crank balanced/micropolished, or use your existing crank/rods w/b20z pistons..check out omni's setup)
b16 head with a good valvejob from portflow or another reputable company.
aebs IM
RPM 68mm TB.
ctr cams.

those are the basics i'd start out with. somewhat of a budget build, and you'll get good power with some really good torque for driving around town.

edit: for all motor, a good valvejob would be better than porting and polishing.

thanks for your input. the motor has to stay.

does anyone else have any input? it's not like i'm asking retarded questions like what are the best cams? or the best exhaust ?

i've done my searches.
i've been all over the web.
i've read up on headwork.
i just want to know if on have the right idea.
i'm not writing a check to a shop to build it either and plan to get dirty.

anyone?

do a basic bottom end overhaul. new oem rings/bearings and thats it. spend the rest on fully building the head and i think you'll be very satisfied.

b16 head. valvejob. bc3+'s or 4's. aebs intake manifold. 68 rpm tb. portflow valvetrain/retainers.

ctr pistons/new oem rings. new bearings. new seals.

hondata + tuning.

sell the gsr head complete.

i recommended the b20 bottom end first so you wouldn't have any downtime, since this sounds like your daily driver.
