tonight i was cruising down the freeway going 70-80 ish when all of a sudden i hear a moderately loud "knocking" sound when i let off the gas. i pull over thinking i had a flat tire (which i didnt) and then checked to see if it was the exhaust pipe hitting some metal on the bottom... i drove the car a bit more to see where it was comming from. when accelerating trhough all gears the knocking stops... but letting the car off the gas/ or just coasting in neutral it makes the horrible noise again. at a stop the car makes no knocking sound...

when i first got the car it had a similar problem but the noise was not at all noticeable unless you really try hard to listen to it. dealer supposedly fixed it. maybe its the same problem?

Does it only do it when the car is rolling and no load is on the transmission. What abourt revving it in neutral? Sounds like a possible differential problem or something in the axles/suspension/brakes.
