Default bored write up on garage painting a eg...kinda ricey

alright im bored right now and i felt liek showing pics of when i painted my eg this past summer in my lil garage in suburbville ...its a tiny space but we did it....
by the way yes at the time i was a young immature 18 yr old and now nothing has changed cept i got rid of this car. and yes this is a ghetto paint job that cost 600 bux for everything total...but it turned out nice!!!!!!!!!


dont have any before pics so use ur imagination (red eg hatch slammed to **** on steelies)
ahh sanding begins we think no biggie this isnt alot of work

more sanding

o yea

take a look at thos bumps

front end with phat tsunami lip...i thought it looked neat i guess

2 car garage, hatch sideways, plastic walmart stuff hung, doors off

retarted friend giving thumbsup on shaved honda emblem and dings and such in hood

OMG ITS ALMOST TIME friends rejoycing (im not pictured)(6 am)...o wait no gun was shitty looks liek we have to wait to buy a new gun tomarrow to paint...god hates me


now painting!!!!!

primer time...roof is gonna be black so grey primer top andn white primer bottom

alright i forgot to take pics of us painting black but i do have shots after clear and without wetsanding......

alright finale after sleepless days and nights of wetsanding and almost winning clay aken tickets on the talk show in the morning. after buffing and wax...here she is...O and with brand new rota subzeros fresh from ebay....lol it was a good deal!!!!

o yea she looks nice

borderline rice but i think it was done in good taste...the atlezzas kinda worked with scheme....

ok thats it thats my lil ghetto paint job which turned out alright in the end....but o wait to PROOVE god hates me a week b4 i leave for school (5 hrs away in Mpls) ******* engine broke down....yea so i have NO money and just spent all that money (1ktotal with rims and tires) am forced to trade it for a lil nifty clean crx...which im in love with....so non running eg shell for a jdm d15b 30k mile clean *** crx...id say i did good. and i got to keep stereo guy was really nice. heres the new whip which im gonna soon buy a siR front end conversion for.....

jdm d15b...pulls hard


DONE kinda silly write up but thought i might as well share... hope u guys found..um intresting?

congrats on trying out the paint experience.......didnt look too bad after tons of wetsanding and then buff......how many coats of clear did you guys do???????

um i think 3...and a half cause we ran out and wanted to shoot front end again.. great experence is right now we have 3 cars under our belts so they just keep gettin better and mroe prefessonaly done this was a 1st attempt by us ever

thx to all for props...umm someone teaches body work? lol ...no we kinda asked questions to ppl at body shops and one of our dads does body work so he kinda told us but ...mostly trial and error...came out real smooth

That diy looks like it turned out real decent from me for the DIY. I'm thinking years down the road if you and your buddys keep praticing you will be shooting out show quality paint cars or at least close to it. Paint looks hot in the pics

I actually didn't mind the hatch with the black on top like that, kinda different. I wish you had a full on side shot so I could tell a little better though.

Good learning experience doing all that though... and not too bad of a trade at least. What motor did the hatch have in it?

Paint looks like it came out good, but I hate how it looks when people make artificial lines for the black on the body. I think the top-black thing only works when it's just the roof/spoiler/hood black, then everything has a body seam to divide the paint.
