Default LS/VTEC: GSR, B16, or LS Bearings?

I need to order my bearings for my lsvtec build. I have searched and see that GSR bearings are pretty awesome and can fit with some machining to the LS rods, but I have no idea what needs to be machined or how to size them after.

B16 and LS rod bearings are the same size but diff material? Is this true?

What about main bearings?

honda bearings come in green, yellow, ect. You need to measure, or have your machine shop do it, to see which one's you need. The ls rods are a little shorter than gsr/itr. This accompanied with a slightly longer crank stroke is what gives the ls more torque and a little more displacement. The itr rods are forged I believe, but they are the only one's I know of that are made any differently than the others.

i am using gsr rod bearings. i had my rods "renotched" to fit the bearings. at the same time i also had the rods resized and the bolts fitted, then balanced

What do you mean by "had the rods resized"? Is it expensive work to have the rods notched?

If the B16 bearings fit without any machining I think I would use those. Could I still use the LS color chart to select bearings if I use the B16's?

"resized" the roundness of the rod, rods can go out of round after a while. so the rod circle needs to be resized to perfect roundness. it's not exspensive... just ask whatever machine shop you are going to.

the b16 and LS are the same i believe, i would go the extra mile for gsr rod bearings with that special coating, forgot that long word. it was inexspensive to get the rods renotched and resized.
