The LS block can, in fact its lower compression is perfect for boosting.

should check for the recent arguement i was in i think the tirle was should i swap GSR or do LS/VTEC

if you're looking to spend only $3500 you're better off building the LS/VTEC with new rods and ARP rod bolts because LS rod bolts do not take revs over 8k very well at all but the engine is capable of more so you have to do the bottom end to run it...

so i personally with the money buy a B18 head for higher compression, B16 pistons, Eagle Rods ARP bolts everywhere applicable, B16 trans, and run the LS/VTEC

but if you have the money and intentions to boost i would go GS-R...

The b16 gears are too short for boost.

I would just boost the ls for now, then build it later once you know what you are dealing with.

There are lots of people using stock motors, and not having any trouble. The key is the tuning.

i'd boost the LS...the lower compression will make it safer than a simliarly boosted GSR motor. Just boost it and don't go all out raising boost

See, now you are just saying false info.

I would honestly look in the classifieds on here for a bare gsr block....oil squirters...and build that, buy a head build that, get yourself a tranny blah blah, you could probably build a gsr engine...put it together, for around that budget. Then you can sell your b18b with tranny to someone for a little more money and start a nice turbo fund. That is what I would do if it were me, because you wouldn't have any downtime on your car while building an engine, and if you run out of funds, you can still be driving your car and just have a little stall on the new engine. or you could trade me your integra, for my crx and boost my crx

Seriously though, I would start looking around for some parts, piece together a gsr swap hopefully bare so you can just have it built the way you want it without having the down time on your car.

honestly the cheapest way to make ur car fast is to do Ls vtec gsr head with skunk internals and stage 2 cams. and minor port n polish an call it a day. and you will be qiuck

yeah but if a turbo ls pulls up on you.. you'll get owned..

i say do the b16 tranny swap, boost the stock ls engine.. with about 6-9lbs on a very good tune, and you'll have a good fast fun boosted car.. and get mad props for doing the setup.. then when you get another 1000/1500, build ur bottom end, some good cam's and valve job, and you're set.. oh, and maybe a S2 manifold..

The b16 tranny is too short for boost. The gsr would be better.

if you are planning on boost...

why don't you just boost now?

$3500 is enough to get you started. 7-8 psi should be achieved easily. ppl will tell you to custom build. you can buy a kit too. revhard has a nice stage 2 one.

you don't need to bother with that gsr bullshit... just go straight to turbo and tune.

thats just my input though...

boost boost and boost , i was runnin 12 lbs on stock block and internals,it would still be running today if the bish didnt get the car in the divorce....btw selling turbo kit and full exhaust pretty cheap see sig all for an integra too

10-12lbs tuned right will put you right around 240-260 at the wheel on an LS motor (depends on tuning)

+ 3500 is not enough to build a good ls/vtec , just boost the ls
