crushed dc 4-1.. doh
so i was drivin home the other nite on a road that was ripped apart to be redone, tried to strattle a sewer cap sticking out that i THOUGHT i could clear and at only like 10mph... BBBBBAMMMMMMMM!
so its a 4-1 dc header on my b16crx with the lower 2 pipes reduced to about half the diameter..
also shifted my whole exhaust system about an inch and a half...
so my question is... does it being crushed matter??
either way im NEVER GETTING A 4-1 again cause they hang too low!!
thanks

dc header vs solid brick at 40 mph
It's restricted. Fix or replace ASAP.
BTW if you had a 4-2-1 header the oil pan would have taken the hit. I'd rather **** up the header than the oil pan.
No biggie if you can weld

lol damn those pics are pretty crazy.
I was pulling into a driveway with 2 slabs you have to drive on, and drove off one, bottoming my whole car directly onto my DC 4-1. All i got was a little dent

did the same thing to my down pipe just not as bad. luckely im doing a new set up soon since i drive with my car lowered a fair amount i am def going to have a skid plate fabed for my downpipe. i dont feel like going thru anymore downpipes 1 is enuff!!!
B-series CRX's and 4-1 headers do NOT mix. You should look into getting a T1R header or something of that sort with much better ground clearance and no sacrifice in flow.
LOL! I dont mean to laugh eda6, its just that it looks EXACTLY like mine, even the driverside took the main blow!... so i guess this is my DC farewell
..
(its about time anyway all the ceramic rusted away at the collector anyway)
so besides the T1R, which im about to go look up...
how do you guys think a jdm itr manifold would be??
ouch it actually hit the bottom of my block too on the topside of the 4-1 and put a slice/kink in it! sucks..
thanks guys!

The JDM ITR would hang as low or lower than the 4-1 you already have (assuming yours wasn't a 2.5'' collector)
Toda, SMSP, Hy-tech, and believe it or not Weapon-R has a very good one out right now. All but the weapon R are going to be around a grand, though. But...its a "buy it once" deal.
