Throttle body for M-Cutout
So me piece of **** E-cutout fell apart, and I really don't feel like dealing with the hassle of it breaking all the time. It's just too fragile. So now I am running open downpipe, but it attracts alot of attention (no bueno). I saw that Jdavis was running an M-cutout, using a throttle body.
I don't feel like spending a ton of $$ on a brand new one, so does anyone know what the largest OEM throttle body is? Off of any car I mean. . I wanna try to find one at a local junkyard. . .
Also, how would I go about opening and closing the Cutout? I figured I could use some sort of bicycle brake cable? Thanks for your help. .

Really? I seriously doubt ITR's have a 77mm throttlebody, I've never seen a honda motor with bigger than a 62mm (~2.5").

that's be pretty cool if it opens with your throttle position.
meaning, at WOT the cutout is open WOT

Nah, because it would still be loud all the time, even when accelerating slightly.
I'm asking you guys, how do I open/close it? I know it has to be cable operated, and I can run a cable into the car. . I guess I could use the same kind of lever that is used to control throttle position on lawnmowers? kinda ugly, but I could hide it under the dash or something. .
J. Davis. . Where are you?

Awsome, do you know the modle, so I can ask if the junkyard has any of them lying around?

I did have an ITR ya know
. lol. I think i would know
I had to buy 3inch to 2.5 inch coupler for my charge pipes and AEM CAI's for the ITR only are 3inch , So you tell me.

I'm currently doin an M-cutout on my car as well.. I"m just using an LS throttle body since i have a spare to help save $$... ITs gonna be on the down pipe by the o2 sensor so its size shouldn't be too big of a concern.. I"m using a cruise control actuator to open and close the TB.. Did some tinkering w/ the actuator controls and it came out great..
Right now, its just a matter of time of getting the parts welded on and operating.. Price, next to nothing as compared to those E-cutouts which seem to be unreliable and cost rediculously expensive for what they're made of.. A metal plate, a simple motor, etc...

Well I have a spare gsr throttle body lying around, but I think that may kinda choke the turbo. . Right now I have a 3" downpipe, and just a 3" opening, don't you think a 62mm throttle body will hurt it?

What did you do to the cruise control box?

Too many flaws, the exhauust gasses don't flow out of it, it flows through it, and it's not gonna let the turbo spool as fast as an open downpipe will (aka already open E-cut before boost)
infinity Q-45 have a huge throttle body
there is a thread about them on here
think it like 80mm
ITR throttle body is 2 5/8 inside diameter, 2 7/8 outside diameter (approx.)
that would explain the 3" to 2.5" reducer for I/C piping
I just measured one I have in the garage
