Default what is going on here?

I had to replace my distributor rotor not too long ago because it had been burnt on the metal part. (Made my car run rough at idle) I went to Advanced Auto and they gave me one for a Gs saying it would work since they looked the same. I was pretty skeptical about it but I thought I would try it. I purchased a new one for my R that was made for it and when I took off the distributor cap to put the new one on, I see this again:

What could be the problem here? Maybe the distributor cap? Timing? My cam gears are set 2 degrees advanced on the intake side and 0 on the exhaust side. please help

Some parts from Advance I don't mind using. Others I'd stick with OEM. Dist cap and rotor I stay OEM. Even the OEM rotor is only like $10.
