E-brake light on...ABS light follows shortly thereafter???
I noticed yesterday that after some slightly spirited cornering, my e-brake light popped on and wouldn't go off. The ABS light came on shortly after that. I'm not noticing any brake pedal pulsation, so what could the problem be???
This is a little strange actually.....the fact that the two come on with each other.
The "BRAKE" (e-brake) light comes on after some spirited driving if your brake fluid is low. Check that. However, if it was the brake fluid triggering the BRAKE light, the ABS light wouldn't come on.
If the e-brake is actually up enough for the BRAKE light to come on, eventually the ABS system turns off, thus the ABS light comes on.
Perhaps the connection is messed up?

I don't think the ABS system knows which switch triggered the lamp (fluid float vs. handbrake lever). It only knows that the circuit is energized.

That's what I thought at first too. However, I noticed that when I drive with the handle up a few clicks to energize the circuit, the ABS light comes on after about 20 seconds.
If the same problem occurred but not with me pulling the brake (i.e.: the brake fluid being low), the ABS light would never come on.
That's why I said what I did. I wasn't sure at first either, but based on my experience, that's what happened.
