Well i took my car to get inspected today. I told the dude to turn on my fan(slimline pusher hooked to a switch), and i showed him where it was and everything. Well he pulled it in the bay and started the inspection. Me and my brother stepped outside of the bay to smoke a cigarette. Well about 5 minutes into it we started smelling a weird exhaust smell. So i look inside and see that my car is smoking a little
.
Well i run in there and look at the temp gauge(i knew right were to go because i recognized teh "sweet" exhaust smell
)...and it was all the way to the top. I freaked out and started cussing and told him to cut it off. And this stupid redneck looks at me and says "itll cool back down when it starts idling again". At this point he was holding the gas at 2800rpms.
So i told him a couple more times and he kept saying no. Well then i really flip out and reach in the car to cut it off...well this jackass tries to grab my arm and jerk it away. I cut the car off right as he grabbed my arm...and before i knew it i was reering back to knock his head off. My brother grabbed my arm and the dude jumps out and yells "get this car the **** outta here". So i grabbed my registration and left.
I drove the car home and it felt like it didnt have any power...but it wasnt overheating anymore. And it stopped smoking. I noticed that it was leaking coolant right after all that happened...but i didnt see any when i got home. Im still pissed as ****...and im praying my car is ok.
What should i look for when i start it up tomorrow? The valve guides are bad on my car so it will smoke regardless until its warm...but i dont want to run the car if the headgasket is blown or something. I guess im gonna take it somewhere and get a leakdown test performed(i dont have the proper equipment). DAMN im pissed!

what does the underside of your oil filler cap look like??? do you have to regularly have to add coolant?? you ever have these problems before?? have you ever had your head off and reinstalled it without resurfacing it?? any coolant in your oil??? hope you figure it out, by answering some of these questions we should be able to narrow things down more.

I havent looked at it yet...im waiting for it to cool down. I havent had to add coolant since i rebuilt the engine(about 4k miles on it now). No ive never had these problems before...but its never overheated. Im gonna go look at it tomorrow when i have some light and its completely cooled down. Thanks for teh quick reply
I'd go back and file a complaint. Inspections are bullshit anyway, the last thing you need is for them to screw your car up. I'd have done the same thing in that situation.

I dont think a complaint would mean **** to these people. I mean the owner is a really nice guy and ive gotten my car inspected by him forever...but this new dude he has is an all out tard. But they are sorta backwoods and redneck. Oh well...i just went and checked the car really good...then i let it warm up and sit for a few minutes. I didnt see any leaks and it never even thought of overheating. I drove it around for prolly 15 minutes and it seemed fine.
to me for overreacting so bad.
BTW-just because it ran fine...does it necessarily mean that its fine? Or should i still get a leakdown? Thanks

if the needle went all the way up on the temp gauge you should probably check your oil just to make sure water didnt go into the head if it did the oil would look like chocolate milk this means your screwed
