b&m short shifter wtf
k about a month ago i bought a b&m short shifter cause my no name one was making some wierd noises and finally the other day i went to go put it in and it only came with the short shifter like 10 different o rings and some lube. and i was like for one thing the hole for the bolt to go through is like about aquarter inch to big and even if you take all the o rings and put them around the bolt and in the hole it still wouldnt work. what should i do? ps i was installing this on my 94 coupe
did you rember to take the join collar out the old shifter, it is gonna be the round hole in the bottom of the shifter its self. you can take a 1/2 socket a hammer knock it out softly. once you get it out you need to put the new O rings on it and lube it back up and put it in the new shifter, then you can reasamble eveything. if you have and other questions you can get me at AIM Nbr1civicEX or email me at NatNBS@aol.com good luck

thanks guys well the problem is the crappy short shifter that i bought in between these had sealed bearings inbetween so the bolt fit fine but now the problem is i cant remember what i did with my original shifter
I totally love my B&M, I also tossed my stock shifter when I used an Ebay cheapie and had to buy a new collar for the center. The B&M price is so good that buying the collar is no biggie on top of that. It's like $8, a ripoff for what it is but that's dealers for you.

It's part number 11 in the link above. Click it to get a part number and price, then you can call and compare with your local dealer. It's just a round steel tube with grooves cut in for the O-rings.
