Default inch pounds vs foot pounds ????

i just reinstalled my flywheel and ended up torquing the fugging bolts to 76 "INCH" pounds instead of the correct 76 "FOOT" pounds, yet , when i double checked the torque afterwards with my Foot pound torque wrench, they were all tightened to at least 76 FOOT pounds. i don't get it.
isnt FOOT pounds alot more torque than inch pounds ???
wtf ???

A foot-pound is twelve times bigger than an inch-pound, as there are 12 inches in a foot (so 1 ft-lb = 12 in-lb).

thats what i thought. But i tightened my flywheel bolts to 76 "INCH" pounds, yet when i checked them with my "foot" pound torque wrench, all the bolts were already at 76 "foot" pounds.
how the **** could that be ?

i think both ur torque wrenchs are ft/lbs. An inch pound torque wrench is much much smaller than most ft/lbs wrenchs. Either that or one of ur torque wrenchs is way off.

I would get both of your torque wrenches recalibrated. Don't want those flywheel bolts coming loose.

I'd say you're using 2 torque wrenches and not realizing it. There's no way you could torque down a bolt to 76 INCH LBS. and then it not move when you re-torque it to 76 FOOT LBS. because 76 INCH LBS. equates to about 6 FOOT LBS. That is if the wrenches are both working properly.
