Default Soundstream amp good? or not?

hey guys, im not too familiar with audio stuff, so im asking this question.
Id like to know if Soundstream amps edge series are good quality. ive been looking around, and apparently the older models of soundstream were very good, but what about the newer stuff?
i have to get an amp to power my JBL 400rms.

Anyone has a soundstream amp? what do u have to say about it?
any recommendations on other amps?

thanks guys

it depends on waht series, the referancea dn the rubicon series are good, but the newer stuff since they have been bought out by power acoustic(i think) they have gone to ****.. I used to rock 2 rubicon 502 and a 604, they they wer dope, back in the day like in 99 and 00

it depends on how new the amp is. the old soundstream stuff was bomb, when it was still soundstream. they got bought out a few years ago by power acustic. now its a bunch of ****.

how old is old? like 2-3 years ago?
cause the model i was looking at is the ega2440. 880X1 and 440X2.
its either that or the xstream model, the new one.

if this is ****, what else do u recommend?apart from soundstream

its a newer model. Soundstream was the **** from like 95-99. anything newer than that is sketchy. I hear the Tarantulas arent bad. but i dont trust em.

Any of the reference series from back then, most all of Soundstream was BLUE back then. The new stuff is o.k. for basic's

They also had a few chrome plated amps that were the ****. Not sure when Soundstream got bought out, but if you look at the new stuff and then go to Ebay and search for "soundstream reference 405" thats old school soundstream and just look at the diffenerce.

I have a rubicon 502 and a 302. These amps are great but as far as the new soundstream amps i would stay away from them.

i have had em all back in the day, I just threw away a Ref500 and Ref300, and right now using a Class A10.0 for my subs. works like a gem for a 6-7yr old amp
