Default Just about to tear her apart

I am the proud new owner of a mint 97 4 door ex accord. I am planning to paint it black and throw some flake on that baby also throw a nice kit on it this coming december. I also ordered some blot ons like a front strut bar,and long cold air intake. My question is wise honda experts.. What do you think would be worth my cars time and my wallets time to make this baby purr? I was thinking of throwing on 4-2-1 headers but heard they dont really do jackshi* for an ex, do you think its worth my time for a sports cat, i was also thinking of rippping the muffler of and just running 2 pipes out the back straight from the stock cat. Also I am a little worried about where to put my directionals since i have to rip them off for the kit. I cant seem to buy amber blinkers to throw in my clear corners. Anyone had that problem. Thanks.....

hey I am from around the Utica area and to tell ya the truth..DONT GET A KIT!!! its such a waste of time and $$$$ for us new yorkers. You should save up your money and put it all into the engine. Leave the outside stock..maybe a diff. lip or some black housing lights or something in that magnatude but dont waste your time on the kit. Mine cracked in a month, and plus you cant rock it the winter and you get more lake effect snow than I do. I would steer clear of that "ricer" look and go for some performance. If I knew this before hand I wouldnt of wasted my money on paint and stupid body kit...it doesnt improve anything. Get a CF hood or just go all motor those options are better off. Just my 2 cents......*Not Hating or nothing just stating my previous encounters.

Thanks for the advice, however I will only be driving her in the NY summers and New Mexico winters since I go to school out her in the desert. So she wont see a day of snow hopefully. I am also in the market for some wheels. I was looking on eBay and i can pick up some nice shoes for like 400$. Im looking for 17" black rims with a chrome lip. it should match the black paint job nicley. As you can tell im not going to make this a go car im more looking for it as a daily driver that looks sharp and has a little power if i want to utilze the vtec. Any suggestions as far as boosting the horsepower for cheap.I have a long cold air intake and what i mentioned above. I saw these speed chips i can buy for like 10 bucks im curious if it is a hoax or what. Also any suggestions as far as are the wheels on ebay,, crap or will do the job fine. Also are 17" good for a car with a body kit and not being lowered at all.

"speed chips" = garbage (although potato chips are good)
body kits (excluding OEM kits) = garbage
motegi or other crap wheels = garbage
17 inch wheels = hmmm...... (stick with 16s max for best look\performer)

go with good suspension that won't lower too much and you will be much happier and your wallet will thank you for spending wisely.
