a hair under 12.3:1
power production is down a decent amount on pump gas, around 10-15 whp depending on the tune, however, it's still pretty streetable, i run 94 or 93 no problem, and with creative tuning and preparation, you could run 91, however, i would not suggest the y8 head unless you go with an even thicker HG than mine...

i was just about to ask about your setup lol.
how much compression would a6 pistons in a y8 yield. I wont have the octane for the a1 pistons.
also how is the idle and general drivabilty?

Hey, the Apexi Power FC is a standalone! It's just not very popular yet, however, it is AMAZING, especially considering the price.

a6 pistons would yield almost 10.5:1...
http://www.knology.net/~jediklc/D.htm is your friend, bookmark that ****!
idle is perfect becuase i have an Apexi Power FC with idle stability, however, believe it or not, the car idles well even with the stability turned off! hard to believe considering the crazy stage 3 profile, however, i don't know how it would idle with solely a honda ecu...maybe hondata, atleast....
driveability, again, is great, and that might be a testament to the FC's flexibility, however, my gas mileage is shitty, but the tune has alot to do with that, i am getting it tuned again since i've added some major parts since the last time it was tuned.

my bad,
, how is the power FC for a person with no tuning background, very user friendly? or should i just leave it for the "tuner", we are both running sort of the same setup so keep us posted on when u decide to get it tuned
cant wait to see your numbers
good luck

the fc is meant to be tuned by an Apexi Power Excel shop, since the new english software, the latest version of the software for the FC called "FCPro", is only avail. to power excel shops...and the FC itself is only avail. thru Power Excel dealers. Sure there are other ways to go about it, like getting a box from Ebay, a gray-market box imported from japan, and using the bootleg software by Datalogit, which is essentially just the old edition of the software, but translated by some New Zealand dude.
ha, you could also try to tune with the commander, but good luck navigating 5X5 at a time, and you lose a ton of flexibility and tuning features w/o the software.
THe FC is extremely affordable, with a retail right now of about 650 with commander, which is unheard of for a plug and play stand alone....sure, you cant run 3 rev limiters and run 10 coils like the EMS, but it has some awesome functions and tuning is on a 20X20 matrix for timing and fueling events...
