vortech blower on itr... not your same old questions.....
itr in question has 80k miles on it. ringlands broke on cyl #2 and #3 after 2000 miles with the vortech blower.
cylinder walls look excellent. head is perfect.
I'm trying to decide what to do for the rebuild.
option #1: buy new set of stock pistons, new rod bearings, remove blower, and roll out.
option #2: buy forged pistons and rods, new rod bearings, keep blower, and tune.
option #3: ???
Now what pistons should I look into since we're leaving the bottom end in the car and will do a simple re-hone? Is there a forged piston that won't scar the cylinder walls when cold due to different expansion properties than stock? Perhaps a forged piston with high silicone content?
And finally, what c/r should I shoot for? I don't anticipate anything much over 12psi, and was thinking a flat top 11:1 c/r piston would be very nice.
Of course this is fully tuned with hondata s200b, and we have the option of uberdata as well.....
Thoughts?

I would not go that high on compression if its your daily driver. Yes, it will make more power and be a little more responsive but keeping detonation away will be very difficult. I would go with 9.8:1 or 10:1 pistons. When I was supercharged I got the Endyn 10:1 pistons and it was great. If you do go with 11:1 then I would invest in a J&S safegard just to keep things in check when your not paying attention.

.....Scott, I don't see a 10:1 piston on the endyne site (81mm bore):

I see them in 8.90-9.28:1.....
What is the recommended piston in cylinder clearance for these?
They're pricey too: $485.00 per set plus rings ($78.00).
