Default AZ People: Emissions questions

Do I need to worry about passing emissions if I decide to register my car in AZ (still IL registration and title right now) ?

I have a JDM 4-1, Carsound Cat., Comptech Icebox, V-AFC (tuned). Will passing the emissions test in AZ be a problem? Currently no check engine light, so visually no problems.

Thanks.

you might have to de tune a little. i had a nightmare of problems with my gsr with similiar mods. id put your stock cat back on for sure though, and make sure its not running too rich.

If you don't still have the stock header and cat, let me know... I kept mine just for emissions day! Free loaner parts!!

Usually, if you don't have any CEL's, you will be ok. OBD2 cars in Arizona usually just get a plug in and visual/gas cap test. They didn't even pop my hood when I ran my car through last August.

Good cause I sure as hell don't have the parts.

My problems is that MVD comes to my work every 6 months (according to the security guards) and looks for out of state plates and issues registration warnings about registering your car in AZ. I'd like to leave it in IL as it is right now because it's only $78 a year for registration.

AZ is pretty serious when it comes to registering your vehicle in the state...

if you were smart you would just plug in a jdm ecu.
they cant connect with the vehical when they plug in and you pass by defualt.
dans hatch passed with his 2 liter, and wasnt even running a cat.

You don't think that would raise a red flag; I dunno. I mean ****; I can cause the computer to not connect with some minor modifications to the wiring to the OBDII port. Don't need a JDM ECU for that

I can't afford an ECU; I'm a poor engineer.

As long as you still have your stock ECU in the car, I don't forsee you having any problems passing emissions, especially if you aren't throwing any codes. It isn't that hard to pass in AZ
