Sleeper look ?
My car : 92 Civic sedan EG8
Engine : B18C5 no boosts yet
Exiterior : Mostly stock
- Amber corners
- Mugen lips
- Not lowered yet.
It's silver and I have silver 15 inch rims. Would my car increase it's sleeper look if I paint my rims to either black or bronze . What u think ?
How du u'r sedans maintain it's sleeper looks ? let me see pics........
hmmmm...well i'm not quite sure which way to steer you on this one.
but who knows, maybe some of the other fellow H-T "sleepers" will give you some good advice on how to maintain a low profile until that crucial moment that you get on the throttle and show that ford focus who's boss!

You want to enhance the sleeper look???????
sleeper = stock or crappy just from being abused.. maybe rusty from being old... with performance mods only...
ergo..
Sleeper = stock apperance.... its not that hard... why do you think its called a sleeper? because it doesnt look different thats why.

Sleeper is generally a stock looking car, but I have seen some that had minor mods like racing rims, or some carbon fiber parts, but even then it wasnt really anything special.....Until they got on it lol.

No carbon fiber parts, no racing rims, no mugen lips or modified lights. Any oem style cf parts should be paint matched. Nothing on the interior that is modified should be noticeable from the outside. Even the muffler has to at least be oval shaped and not stainless steel, and should be quiet at idle and mild acceleration. That means use a long muffler, a resonator, and appropriate diameter piping with no JDM blingy exhaust tip. Aftermarket suspension parts, particularly at the rear where they are highly visible, should be spray painted flat black. You can't drop it 2 inches without it being noticeable even to mustang drivers. For rims you can grab some OEM steelies from a FF Honda that came stock with larger rims. For me this is necessary because I have Integra spindles that don't fit under 13 inch Civic rims.
The result of this strict discipline is that you are virtually invisible to cops/street racers/thieves. Enjoy.

I agree - that's deffinately some camoflage there.
My idea of rice-o-fied camo:
1. Massive, poor fitting wing
2. Stickers that have no relavence to your car
3. Token head/tailight changes
4. Windsheild washer lights
5. Color wiper arms
How to pull off the sleeper part:
1. Keep stock rims
2. Dents say alot about money into the car
3. Rust (see 2)
4. Gernerally dirty helps too
All this plus a pretty quick car will definately be sleeper w/ rice camo.
New sleeper catagory: Rice Camo

My dark gray (and completely beat) EG8 is sportin' a '95 B16A and the only exterior mods are that it is lowered and has a front lip. The Thermal exhaust is rattling like mad so that gives the effect of being a cheap rice-mobile. It is completely covered in dents and scratches. The interior, including the cluster is stock, smells horrible and it's rollin' on silver 13" Honda steelies with H center caps and snow tires.
I think our buddy confused sleeper with just a clean looking oem style car. My car has the stock front lip/sides (dont even sport an eom rear lip) and simply the fogset that came outta the factory. Car looks great, most peopl think i have a body kit
But its not really a sleeper, its all blingy and shiny and black and lowered and shizzznit ;-)
Just leave your exterior how it is, and forget about it
Wax it six times a year for that extra 'sleepery' look

yup, bye-bye lip, corners and rims. painting them will take you even further from the sleeper look

get a wing, rain gutter side skirts, GT-R badges matched with v-tec or SI-R badges also, a nice APC banner in the window, roll front steelies with 18" back rims, huge unpainted from bumper from a shitty body kit, and always drive with your seat so far back that you have to look out the back windows to see left and right. then people really wont suspect you to be fast

the whole bodykit thing i think if it matches and its not to ungodly big i think they are all right. not for sleeper looks tho. for my bro's sleeper he has a 92 civ dx four door plexi glass windows all round except for front. driver and passenger seat rear seats are out of it. a dent in the hood where he hit a deer and it fell over onto his hood. then a cracked bumper from backing up then driving onto the deer. and doing several burn outs on it. dents in the corner panels from hitting trash cans. and big 4x4 stickers and a mexican flag (im not trying to be offensive)
