Unusual wheel query
Just wonderin if any of you guys can help with this - after searchin high and low thru hundreds (literally) of websites and magazines for a set of wheels for my JDM 2002 DC5 ITR I have found the wheels that I want the only problem is that they are Nismo which might bother some peeps but not me! They are LMX5's which you can see on http://rayswheels.co.jp/emenu/...o.jpg I hope you agree that they are a nice set of rims and different too but although the P.C.D. is correct at 5x114.3 the offset is a little low at ET40 but I know that some owners are already runnin similar offsets eg. +42 and I could always machine a couple of MM off! My main concern is therefore the design of the wheel and the spokes in particular and what some alloy wheel dealers have referred to as the 'X' Factor which is whether or not the spokes will clear the caliper, so I hope someone out there can help or can suggest someone who could help cos I spotted these rims a couple of months ago and have been trying to sort this issue ever since and seein as I'll have to order them from Japan I wanna be reasonably sure they're gonna fit or be modded to fit! I've even tried Nismo dealers none of which were even aware that the rims existed until I contacted them! Any info at all would be greatly appreciated - Thanks!

Sorry lads I entered the link that should've taken you straight to a pic of the rim but for some reason it isn't working but it will provide you with a link to the site and you can click on wheels from there PS there is also an English translation box in the bottom left hand corner Thanks again!
What year Type-R is it?
2002? Is that a EDM/UKDM or JDM DC5?
I run +43 and have no issues with my 01. Worst comes to worst, you could run spacers.
How about measuring it all up and or if a DC5, asking in that forum since you'd probably get a more precise/correct answer.
I know that Rays at one time offered a paper cut out template on their website for you to check clearances of calipers and such for different offset's, but it's been awhile since I've had that link so best of luck tryin to find it.

Try again. Adding a spacer to an offset that was too low would only make the problem worse - causing the wheels to stick out even further.
To the original poster... you'd better order a spare now... otherwise, you could end up with three useless wheels if a pothole strikes.
