manual H22 transmission + F23 engine???
i was wondering if anyone has done an H22 tranmission bolted to the F23 engine in a cl or accord? if so, where there any issues? i read in the fact section here that it was done but the subframe had to be grinded the a/c had to be removed and the motor sat more to the driver side? thanks in advance.
are you sure you didn't read that in the Civic or CRX forums because there isn't any subframe modification or A/C removal needed to make it fit. It should bolt right on there. I'm not sure if the linkage is different or not but you shouldn't have any problems bolting it up, no A/C problems and the motor should sit in the same position as it was before.
Or atleast that was my understanding, if I'm wrong someone please correct me.

no, it was definitly here heres the link https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=797528 and i'll copy and paste what it said below. personally it sounds like the guy did something wrong but i just want to double check or see if anyone else heard about this.
from the above link:
Mounts #2: I put my H23 tranny in with a F23A1 engine and did not need to modify any mounts. Of course the engine was a little off to the drivers side, and there were some clearance issues. But those were solved with some trimming of the crank pulley and the absence of A/C.
i guess there was triming of the crack pully not the subframe like i thoguht, my bad, im still not awake.

actually, it does say something about grinding a part of the rear support beam. Kinda vague so I'm not sure where he was talking about though.
I don't understand why the tranny would cause the motor to shift, causing the crank pulley to hit something and needing the removal of the A/C. If the motor infact shifted wouldn't there be a problem with the axles as well? Also, shouldn't the motor sit in the same place if the stock mounts were used? To me it just doesn't make sense but hopefully someone who has actually done this will help you to figure out if this info is accurate or not.

them are my thoughts also, i mean if the a/c has to be removed and you have to grind the crank pully down that on large shift, which would have to destroy axles. i talked to people that said they think it is a direct bolt in but no one knows anyone who actually done it.
