heater issue need advice
hey everyone,
my heater doesn't work in my '97 gsr. I tried researching this but there was no clear answer. The a/c blows supremely cold. I'm kinda clueless where to go. I do not have fluid in my car, so im hoping my heating core is still good. I researched and found there is a second switch under the passenger side dash that may not be hooked up. I looked and didn't see what door I'm looking for. Does anyone have pics of this? Also where exactly are the hoses at in the engine bay going to the heater core? pics? what hose goes where? TIA

It's not really another switch under the dash. Stick your head down in the passenger footwell, look over like you're trying to see the back of the stereo.
When you move the temperature slider, there's a cable that's supposed to move a couple levers down there. See if it's hooked up or broken. One of those levers works a second cable that goes thru the firewall. The heater hoses are just forward of the firewall, sorta below the fuel filter. One of the heater hoses has a valve on it, that's where this 2nd cable goes.
Look at http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org for some pictures. Select heater or water hoses or something. Probably have to look at a couple different pictures to get everything.

That is my situation...
</TD></TR></TABLE>I guess every time you wanted to adjust the temperature you could open the hood & move the valve.
Or maybe get a cable...
