vtec solenoid question
will the vtec solenoid off of a B series head fit on the H22 as I cannot seem to find an H22 vtec solenoid and can find all kinds of B series for cheap
The solenoid itself, the top, is interchangeable. However the base, the portion with the oil pressure sensor, is not. If you just need the top, I have an extra one.
well to be honest I am not sure what part of it is bad, but oil pressure is fine its throwing the code and when vtec goes to kick in the car acts like it hits a weak fuel cut, and from what I hear/have searched that is common with the solenoid going out.
is the 99 OBDII USDM solenoid the same as a 94 OBDI JDM one if so I will probably take it off your hands.
How can you tell which part is bad or if only the top part is bad, how can I check it....thanks in advance

You could try cleaning the solenoid filter first.

If you have a volt meter (multi-meter) you can also measure the resistance of the coil. If it is very high or very low (open/short circuit) then that should tell you if the coil itself is bad. I suspect this may be your problem (or some other electrical problem), particularly since there is a check engine code. Good luck.
I just resenly bought a 92 lude with a JDM type-s vtec in it and the cheack engine light and came on, and did the same thing with the power drop. So i flashed the code and it was Vtec solenoid so i went to honda and bought a brand new 1 for the USDM, put it on with the new screen and went test drive it the light was off and it woked but the VTEC would like fade on as appossed to the JDM solenoid coming on and puting you in the seat. It steal worked properly and evry thing but just didnt have that UMPH. Well the next day there was a 350Z F-ing with me so i went to run him and bam no vtec and the check engine light came on, so i went home and thought about it and thought about the wireing form solenoid to ECU and shure enough it was on there with but connectors and a halfass grond, I rewired it and put the old 1 back on there and works fine. Honda wouldnt take it back be cause they could tell i put it on so i stashed it in the box in my shed. So if you want it i can look for it check it out and cut you good deal on it.
